When we build intranet tools for clients where data can't leave the company, Codeium's self-host is the only "free and air-gapped" option — something Copilot and Cursor can't give. For daily coding, individual Free is genuinely enough; don't mistake "free" for "castrated". But if you want top agent IQ, Windsurf's Cascade still trails Cursor. Advice: individuals and compliance firms pick Codeium first; for peak agents go Cursor or Copilot Max. Pitfall: enterprise compliance lives in the Enterprise tier — budget before you talk.
